Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver

Most of us that grew up watching the Pokémon T.V series have most likely played one of the many Pokémon games on the Gameboys. The last Pokémon game I had played was Crystal version back around 2002, when the T.V series was still fresh in my mind. Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are remakes of the Gold and Silver versions, which many people from my generation have played. I didn’t know whether I was going to be ready to jump back into the series, but I knew I was going to be in a familiar place.

Before the release of Assassin’s Creed back in November 2007, people were full of anticipation and could not wait to get their hands on what seemed to truly be a next generation game. When it finally released, many were left disappointed and kept saying to themselves, “What if Assassin’s Creed had this…?”. Can Ubisoft Montreal actually take advantage of the potential that many gamers saw, or is Assassin’s Creed 2 just another disappointment?

The opinions on Mass Effect 1 were divided between people who loved the game, and people who realized the potential but were held back by technical issues.  With Bioware releasing the fantastic Dragon Age: Origins back in October, can Mass Effect 2 also deliver a memorable experience?

Torchlight was developed by Runic Games, which consists of members from development teams such as Mythos and Flagship Studios. Torchlight went on to serve as a basis for their MMORPG, which will be released sometime in 2011. Runic’s first game drew many comparisons to Diablo, in terms of the overall feel and action RPG elements. With the inexpensive price of $20, could this introduction to the world of Torchlight gain interest for the MMORPG set to release in 2011?

Dragon Age: Origins

Quarter 4 of 2009 was overflowing the amount of quality games or big name brands, making it understandable for a game like Dragon Age: Origins to slip by the unnoticed.  Like myself, many people were hesitant to invest their money into Dragon Age: Origins, but with everyone speaking so highly about it, word of mouth still proves to be the best way to advertise.  Can this spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate still have appeal to gamers even though its core gameplay is similar to old school PC RPGs?
